Ashton Eaton PR’s in Three Events at Cal Poly InvitePublished by
Ashton Eaton felt right at home on a cool, Oregon-like day in San Luis Obispo, California. Eaton, a native of Oregon who competes for the Oregon Track Club, headlined the Cal Poly Track and Field Invitational Saturday. The 5-time NCAA national champion for the Oregon Ducks, and world record holder in the heptathlon, took advantage of good conditions and set three personal records. Eaton threw 44.19m in the discuss in an exhibition on Friday, then really went to work on Saturday. After winning the high jump at 6’08″ and already having three PR’s in his pocket with the javelin, discuss and shot put, Eaton and his Coach Harry Marra went for a fourth PR (See Video Below) when they set the bar at 6’11.25″. Eaton barely brushed the bar with his leg and would have to settle with three out of four PR’s.
